Coatl Feather – Relic 1. A brilliant green feather with sharp barbs. When Miguel spends one Legend point and rakes it across his skin hard enough to draw blood, he can summon his Coatl from it.

Coatl – Creature 3. A coatl appears as a snake stretching around 30 feet in length with brilliant green and gold scales and matching feathers. The coatl is intelligent and capable of speech. It is also capable of flight, despite being wingless. The creature is most often used to fight for Miguel.

Gold and Turquoise Earring – Relic 2. Elaborate gold earring that dangles, accented with turquoise gemstones, fashioned into a stylised coatl. Grants access to the Sun and Sky purviews.

Turquoise and Silver Bracelet – Relic 2. A bracelet of silver inlaid with a turquoise mosaic that depicts a winding coatl around the wrist. Adds Legend to all Art rolls.

The Scrivners – Guide 3. Although they’re often working in the Overworld these days, like busy demigods have a tendency to do, both Rufus and Vette Scrivner act as Guides to Miguel and his Bandmates, being experienced Scions who offer advice, equipment and the use of the Hub.

Bio:

Miguel was born in New Mexico to a mother who had a crazy, whirlwind one-night-stand with a handsome stranger. The problem was that she was married at the time, and so when Miguel was born, both white parents looked at this boy with Hispanic features and figured out the truth pretty quickly. The man divorced his wife, leaving Mom to raise Miguel alone, until she remarried another wealthy man. Mom was a pretty attractive woman, after all. Attractive enough to catch the fickle eye of Quetzalcoatl.

Like his true father, Miguel had a lot of creative energy, and he was exceptionally bright in school. His Visitation was definitely a surprise, but it explained a lot of the odd things that had begun to occur in his life – the glimpses of dark things lurking in the shadows, the attempts on his life by strange-looking demons.

Eventually, Miguel was invited by his cousin, Michael Celevos, to attend his university. In a moment of blind trust, he accepted and flourished there, bending his attentions to the development of his art in a place where he thought he was safe. Then Michael showed his true colours, and the boy did not escape unscathed.

After the destruction of the university, he followed the Scrivners to their Hub in New York, forming a Band with other Scions who escaped that hellhole. He’s still an artist, and he still carries darkness in him from his time suffered at Michael’s not-so-tender mercies. That darkness is often channeled through his art, and the rest of his time is spent trying to decide who he’s crushing on more – Deirdre? Or Manjula? Deirdre is certainly the more attainable of the two, with an earthy, strong beauty that he loves to admire. But at the same time, Manjula is like some glorious star, a Muse for his art.
